Panda
The giant panda is also called bamboo bear or bear-cat, and spotted bear. A lot of these bears live in the forests of China among the bamboo groves. As they feast on these bamboo shoots they will consume 20-30 pounds a day. They are big round-faced bears with black spots on their eyes and ears. They have a five-inch tail and can grow to weigh 350 pounds. Pandas do not hibernate and they are usually by themselves except at breeding season. The baby is born blind and pink and helpless and toothless which usually weighs less than 7 ounces and about 7 inches long. The baby will nurse for the mother’s milk for the first year. Mommy loves to play with her baby and rolls him around in delight. She will not have anyone near and father has nothing to do with raising the family.
How would you like to chew on bamboo all day? It sure makes him fat and fluffy. He hardly eats anything else although he will, if he has to. He looks like he would be fun to play with and pet that soft furry coat!
